Grand Canyon National Park, November 2002

Grand Canyon National Park is located in northern Arizona. The park encompasses 277 miles of the Colorado River and adjacent uplands. This is one of the most spectacular examples of erosion anywhere in the world and is a World Heritage Site. We visited the south rim. The Park averages 5 million visitors annually. The geology of Grand Canyon dates back over 2 billions years ago and covers over 1.2 million acres of land in Northern Arizona.
